Sounds and Recordings

We've recorded three albums so far, Inga in Hi-Fi, The Tom 'n' Toby Show and Northwest Polka Country. The first album was recorded live in historic Skinner Theatre at Seattle's Cornish College of the Arts in 1997 and features great Scandinavian and polka music. We only had money for a run of 500 cassettes and they're all sold out.

Inga Schwinga - This is our theme song. Toby wrote it.  [size: 1MB]

Johan på snippen - Johan på snippen is a traditional Scandinavian schottische about a young man with an accordion who lived on a small, irregular peninsula. Boy, those Scandinavians sure know how to party on a small, irregular peninsula!  [size: 770KB]

Livet i finnskogarna - The late, great Swedish accordionist Carl Jularbo wrote Livet i finnskogarna about life in the woods of Finland.  [size: 830KB]

Våren Polka - Våren means "springtime" in English. We generally only play this one during the springtime, just to be consistent.  [size: 1.4MB]

The second album, The Tom 'n' Toby Show, was recorded in 1999 at Tinderbox Studios and features the band with special guest Tom Demski playing some of the great virtuoso accordion pieces including Tom's amazing recording of Tico-Tico. Trust me, if you love Myron Floren or Dick Contino, you'll love this album.

Achtung Los! - Walter Wild, the late, great Austrian accordionist wrote Achtung Los! which means "look out!"  [size: 1.4MB]

PVC Polka - This tune is another one written by Toby. It's inspired by thoughts of large, solidly-built Slavic women and the men who love them.  [size: 1MB]

Tico-Tico - Tom Demski, phenomenal local accordionist, plays the lead on Tico-Tico. He obviously listened to too many Myron Floren records as a young boy.  [size: 1.4MB]

Twilight Time - Toby plays this old chestnut for your listening and dancing pleasure.  [size: 1.4MB]

Under Paris Skies - The band takes you to France for a beautiful waltz.  [size: 1.4MB]

Album #3, Northwest Polka Country, was recorded both at Tinderbox Productions and Mydnyte Productions in 2002. It features a variety of songs usually played at our dances.
